So I think I messed up my auto configurations up for my PS3 controller and I can't seem to revert them back. I made a change to reverse some buttons in the User 1 Binds and saved the autoconfiguration. This started messing stuff up in other places and I am not exactly sure how to switch it back. My hotkeys aren't even working any more and I am not even able to exit emulators. It seems to have messed up all my controls and I can't seem to revert it back.

This can be closed. Apparently it made 2 config files with the same same name which totally messed up where it was loading from. Once I deleted the one in question everything loaded fine.

Just curious where were your config files located for the PS3? I'm having a similar issue with the buttons and hotkeys exiting not working after updating to 4.0 RC1 and I think this might fix my issue too.

          Thanks.

@Sinistar83 mine are in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads I saw there was 2 Playstation ones setup after the change and one had some pretty funky data in it so I deleted it and that fixed it. I did make a change in es_input.cfg in the /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation file where I removed everything involving the Playstation 3 Controller configuration but I am not exactly sure what that did if anybody would like to shed some light? It never populated back that data once I set my controller back up and it appears all the autoconfigs globally pull from /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads. So its a mystery to me what es_input.cfg even does because my PS3 controllers seem to work fine in emulationstation without it.
