Following up on this old thread:
      https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/1895/how-do-i-reset-the-default-mame-config/8

I also need to delete my cfg file in mame2003 so it can be auto-reset. Either using my Mac or using terminal on my pi, I can find the cfg folder, but it's empty.

So what am I to delete? Is default.cfg there but invisible? I'd think not.

      In another location?

I'm on RP 4.4 with a 3B+ and looking here for that file as per the above instructions: /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/mame2000/cfg/

@ohmycommodore Background: just got a new Tankstick (!) and like many, poking around a bit to see if I can get the trackball working. Messed up a couple of general settings in Mame 2003 and looking for the solution to zap it back to original state. This seems to be the right process... I just need to find the file to delete it.

Just used the find command for the first time, after discovering yet another thread on this here: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/4181/lr-mame2003-cfg-files

I can see the file at /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/mame2003/cfg/default.cfg

Let's try to delete it... Boom. And yes it reset on reboot.

          Well done everyone :):):)
