screensaver videos get the same video on a loop ....

The overclock has nothing to do with the screensaver looping. What settings are you using for your screensaver and what version of Emulationstation ?

Hey again, mitu is right if it is freezing then the over settings won't necessarily help.

I used your settings before, I still use the core_freq and gpu_freq, they should be okay. I did run into problems with the sdram at certain values at 533. I think I did not have the correct voltage adjustment. You could try reverting to a stable amount. I use this.

sdram_freq=600
over_voltage_sdram_p=7
over_voltage_sdram_i=3
over_voltage_sdram_c=3

I could try 525 and tell you if I get bad results.

About how long does it take until it freezes?
What kind of freeze is it again, it just a hangup and does it ever resume?
If you run htop in ssh is there still a screensaver process and is it using any resources that you can tell?

Maybe someone will have a better idea for debugging the resources when this is going on. Like maybe a specific video.

Is it a black screen, like in-between videos?

I tested
sdram_freq=525
over_voltage_sdram=2
it ended with a kernel panic.

@Efriim how is overclocking going to help?Overclocking never helps stability but instead can contribute to instability. If you are thinking that somehow this screensaver issue is related to overclocking, then you should turn all overclocking off and test that way.

Yes that is what im trying now to do (with the overclock trying one by one off)...
and yeha the same video on a loop but on line or putty its still working fine (not black screen just loop on the same video).

What is the scraper used to add video metadata, and is the scraper media saved in the roms folder?
Are there any more specifics, like a particular video that does this?

Hi, I have got a video problem. Some of the videos I scraped (skyscraper) for one console (segacd) are erroneous. The bad videos have okay sound but have blank (black-screen) visual for the first 10 seconds or so. When it plays one of these videos if I allow it to play more than ~15 seconds then it will lock up. The only thing I could do was reset.

I haven't messed around much with the lock-up or the videos. I've just avoided them until I decide to scrape again. I will try to delete them/replace them, I think somehow the scraper got incomplete data, I think there is a setting to force refresh cache.

If this sounds at all similar, it may just be a faulty video code generated from the scraper. The video codec can only play in one direction but I think it is possible for it to loop.

For me its stuck on video that u can see on loop (not white screen with sound).
In anycase i switch the screensaver to Images and it fix the problem (kinda solve).
Try to find your white screen video and switch it for sure.
If u find another solution will love to know
