Blast16 1.0 Release
-
Just read about a new Sega themed front end: Blast16.
The coolest feature in the video for me was seeing up to 4 Save Slots that you can load from the front end.
-
@HurricaneFan looks awesome! And that save state from the frontend is a pretty damn cool feature.
-
Very cool. Good to see other alternatives than Emulationstation. I love how smoothly the gui is in this frontend. I wonder if this could be extended to more than just Sega systems. :-)
-
Is it open source? I can see that there is a license there on the site, but I cannot find any link to the code. Is it referring only to the image?
-
I don't see any link to the code either. In a previous forum post on another site, it says its using retroarch so I assume he has to keep it open source.
-
Well, it does use Genesis Plus GX, which license states that redistributions that are modified from the original source must include the
complete source code. -
There is a post from the author on the Libretro forums where they state that they included the RA's source. From the looks of it, they don't seek a commercial distribution, so the source code for the front-end might be open sourced at some point.
-
@mitu I just thought it was interesting they used the löve framework
