      I'm feeling very dumb :(

Worth an upgrade (fresh install) fron 3.8.1?

I suppose I can't upgrade directly from Retropie easly, or I'm wrong?

I installed it from zero cause I had a mess with ps3 driver and bluetooth didnt work properly. I'm new with retropie and I don't know if you can upgrade from an older version. I supose you can update, but if you dont have no games installed yet a fresh install maybe could be easier.

You can update by going to the 'RetroPie' menu in Emulation Station. From there, select the 'RetroPie Setup' menu listing. Once it loads, you'll want to first update your RetroPie-Setup script on the first menu. After that, navigate to 'Manage Packages' and then finally to 'Update all installed packages'.

Does this fix the issues with the Xbox controller drivers?

I believe you still need to roll back the kernel to work around the problem.

So what I am doing is installing to 4.0RC1. Then on the wiki for Xbox Controller it says to install xpad instead of the xboxdrv. This apparently is the best supported driver at this time. My only concern is I now have 4 joypad setups. MicrosoftX-Box360pad, USB 2-axis, Xbox360WirelessReceiver, and Xbox360WirelessReceiver backup. Do I need to delete these and just start from scratch with a new config.

I don't think any of that will be necessary. However, you can make a backup of your card as it is now and if anything goes awry, you can just load the backup image back onto your card as it was. This practice will free you up to try any number of things without worrying about negative consequences.

One last question then I will stop bothering. I thought I saw a way to have the analog stick act like the d-pad. Is there a way to do that or did I just dream that. Searching has produced nothing for me. Will that only work with the xboxdrv or do you know if xpad will allow that to work as well. Sorry really new to RetroPie and trying to get my feet wet with what all I can do.
