      Hi! Thanks for reading.

      I have imaged my Pi with the image directly from RetroPi. I’ve done everything myself, and what an experience! I’m almost content with my setup but I’m having an issue that I can’t seem to get a response from Google on:

      Issue 1: When I put my Pi 3B+ into Kid Mode, the SELECT key on the control no longer brings up the “Jump to” letter search feature. This works in Kiosk and normal modes.

      Issue 2: I had an older image on a Pi 3B board and when pressing the Select key and choosing a letter, the search would place me in the center of the list for that letter. For instance, if I had three ROMS that started with Sa, Su, and Sy... the selector would land on Su. My current 3B+ system lands at the first one beginning with S. In this example, Sa.

      Here’s the relevant info:

      Pi Model 3B+
      Power Supply used: 2.5A, CanaKit
      RetroPie Version 4.4.14
      EmulationStation Version: 2.8.3RP
      Built From: Image downloaded from Retropie and imaged onto a blank 32GB Sandisk microSD. FROM windows using Win32DiskImager
      USB Devices connected: Generic gamepad. Kiwitata from Amazon, SNES style. “USB GAMEPAD”
      Controller used: above
      Error messages received: none.

        I think this is on purpose, the key is disabled on Kid mode, as any other menu.

        I'm not familiar with this behavior, maybe you've had Recalbox installed ? Recalbox has its own Emulationstation fork, quite different that the one in RetroPie.

          @mitu

          Wow! Thank you for the quick response. Is there any way to re-enable the Select menu in Kid Mode? I really only want the Jump-To feature available.

          I know it was a RetroPie box, not RecalBox. I’m googling that though to see if that can fix my search landing.

            What is shown on the different UI modes (kid/kiosk) is not configurable (maybe the Quit option on Kid ?).
