From the RetroPie-Setup script, in the experimental packages' section.

No it doesnt work well for all games. But specifically in regards to Yoshi's Story it works fine on my pi 3b+ (Im overclocked, not sure how well it runs stock)

AFAIK there is no emulator that is really able to run ALL N64-Games.
At least those Games using the infamous U-Codes will stay hard to emulate.
For those who want the whole experience including 64DD-Games an Everdrive will be the best choice.
Once you have it you will never want to live without again ;)

Is It better now to use default lr-mupen64plus-next ? for n64?
or still the same half like that half like that and so on (a mess)

@shavecat I would set either lr-mupen64plus-next or mupen64plus-gliden64 as your default. But neither are going to work for all games. You'll still need to pick what works best on a per game basis, but these two should have the greatest compatibility overall.

This isnt because the emulators are bad. Some games are just too much for the pi. The pi doesnt do 3d games very well.
