      Hi all,

I have some issues with the sound. The sounds is ok for a while and then it cuts, then it come back, cuts, comes back, and so on. I thought it was only SNES related (because I mostly play this console), but no. It happens even when I navigate through the interface. I hear the normal 'ticking' sound when scrolling through games/consoles for a few second, then it cuts for few seconds, then come back etc etc etc

I made some research over the internet, but would like to have your input on this. Already followed some guide to use 44100 audio rate, and sdl as sound driver in the retroarch.cfg file.

I have good knowledge of computers, but not much in linux unfortunately.

      Here are some more infos

      Pi Model: 3B
      RetroPie Version Used: latest, 3.8.1
Built From: (SD Image downloaded, then updated through Binary
      USB Devices connected: controller, keyboard
Controller used: Logitech wingman Rumble Pad
      Error messages received: none
      Guide used: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/sound-issues
      File: none
      Emulator: All
Attachment of config files: I'll post if requested
How to replicate the problem: it always happens on my setup

Thanks in advance for your help!

Do you use HDMI, 3.5 mm or USB as the audio out?

Cuts or fades? It's possible you have a bad connection on your hdmi cable, if you can test another one just to rule out hardware thats worth trying there are also some TVs that have some sound settings that will cut out/fade. I can't remember what it was called but for visio TVs it was something like Turn off SRS TruVolume or something

              hahaha now I feel dumb.

I should have try this before asking. I tried with another HDMI cable, and I have no more sound issues.... well for the moment!
I guess I had an "el cheapo" cable. I have a few HDMI cables laying around, and I lost track of which is of good quality, and which is not.

Thanks for your help! awesome board for quick support

I'll post back if I have any issues yet.

                  Hehe thanks.

For info, I put back alsathread as audio driver, but kept 44100kHz for the audio data rate. I guess 48000kHz would be fine too, but it's working as is now. I don't think I'll play much more with settings

                  Regards!

That's so bizarre. I loaded this page and it was empty and then the replies populated after I posted... Or I stroked out for a while. Why do I taste purple?
