Im not exactly sure where to look for my system info, but what i can find is I have...

          git version: 8e8bdaa
          Compiler: GCC (4.9.2.) 32 bit
          Cpu features: neon VFPv3 VPFv4
          Cpu architecture: ARMv7

Not sure if this helps, I'm using an official ps controller too as I thought it might be the fake ones that were the problem but the vibration Is still happening

          Thanks dudes !

Did you install the sixaxis driver to get your PS3 controller working ? What image did you use to install your system ?

I haven't installed anything else at all, I'm using a wire to connect to the pi, not Bluetooth, the pi recognises the controller and I can configure the buttons, it's just the vibration, also, the lights on the pad keep flicking on 2 nos, not just staying on 1 port ?

Just an update on the situation, I've used a ds3 controller, and it stops vibrating when I unplug it from the wire to the pi, but it still works !?! I thought I'd need a dongle for the usb port to receive a signal, but the pi picks it up ! What's that all about? My pi isn't connected to wifi either, weird! But it works !

You're probably usining a clone and not a genuine sony controller, i had the same behaviour with one of mines (bought off ebay...). it turns out it's either a gasia or a shanwan chinese ripoff.

You might find some useful infos in here https://raspberryblog.de/?p=1870&cpage=2
