Controllers won’t work, need to re-image SD
-
Hello all, I bought a system from someone that has all the games and everything set up already. Eventually the controllers stopped working when I used the plug-n-play method and now I can’t even use the joysticks that came with the matching. I used the command “rm /home/pi/ .emulationstation/es_input.cfg” and attempted to remap the joypads. The mapping is wrong no matter how many times I try to re map them and it only works in the menu and not in game. I’m attempting to re-image the SD card but I have no idea how to do so. I’m attempting to do this with a usb because I don’t have the hardware for a microSD. Can anyone help me get started with this?

@Supes24 contact the people/company who sold you this.
You should know that selling Retropie is against ToS

@Supes24 I dont believe it is possible to burn a new image without the proper hardware: a computer and a micro sd reader.
Like @hostolis said, contact your seller. Since custom systems have custom code, it is best to obtain the custom image for your system rather than break your head to figure out the gpio mapping ,etc. For example: Custom handhelds like MintyPi or Freeplay CM3 offer their own custom retropie images free to match their devices, but just the image.

@luisito
Thanks for the replies. No, I wasn’t aware it was against the TOS to sell RetroPie but what’s done is done. I contacted the original seller and he attempted to help, end result, still a brick at the moment. So to restart, I’m downloading a new image to a USB now, should I just get a new Pi B3 board and start from scratch? Problem is, I wouldn’t even know where to begin to set this thing up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. -
@Supes24 feel free to let the seller know he's a scumbag.
This should give you everything you need to get started from scratch:

@herb_fargus thank you for the link! I downloaded another game package and attempting to unzip on my Mac but the files are always “invalid, incomplete, or corrupted”. I found another program that says it’ll be able to retrieve the .rar files correctly. Fingers crossed!
