How to replicate the problem:Using the Skraper app I am able to get marquee and thumbnails to show in the previews only if I get videos as well. If I don't scrape for the video it still downloads the media but only displays an image in the ES preview. No marquee, no thumbnail, even though the game's metadata shows it has both. I have a large collection of roms (2000+) and downloading a video for each would be a full day process. So, my question is this...
Is there a way to have the box cover art show as the game "thumbnail" when I first scroll over a game in ES, and instead of showing the video preview after a second it switch to the still image linked to the game's metadata "image" (like the 3 or 4 image launchbox mixes) instead? I already have the images I want for the marquee displaying correctly if the game has a file linked to video preview.
Currently I am thinking I will have to scrape all the video files, then edit the gamelist.xml and find/replace each .mp4 with .png/jpg then put all the still images I scrape into the "image" in the "video" folder instead. Any thoughts? I'd really like to avoid scraping over 2000 videos though...
Basically where the clip linked to 'video' usually shows I want it to display the image linked to 'thumbnail' instead.

Configure Emulationstation to use Detailed as the Gamelist View Style instead of Automatic or Video. This way there's no video added to the list.

@mitu I do want the video preview. I just want it to display where the 'image' is usually displayed. Where the 'thumbnail' usually is shown I want the 'image' and where 'video' usually is I want the 'thumbnail' Is there a way to swap the way a theme displays linked files?

@Smythius I guess you'd need to modify the theme and switch the placeholders for the artwork as you'd wish.

@mitu That's beyond my expertise... For another day perhaps.
