I have a MP4 video splashscreen set up on my RPi2(can be found here: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/658/video-splash-console-stripe). When the system starts, the splashscreen will play, but it will only play half-way and then turn into a black screen. This black screen will persist for the remainder of the video, and then the main menu will show up. How do I fix this black screen?

I have this problem too. What was your solution?

          [edit]
I've managed to solve this issue by omitting the -b option for omxplayer in /etc/init.d/asplashscreen on line 39, so it now reads: omxplayer --layer 10000 "$line"
          [/edit]

@iamthefoof In the command line type sudo nano /etc/init.d/asplashscreen make the change, then Ctrl+Xto exit, thenY to save and then Enterto leave the editor. After this reboot.

@AlexMurphy It shows an empty script. Do I have a missing file?

@zackyvillian The splashscreen code has been updated recently, try editing the /opt/retropie/supplementary/splashscreen/asplashscreen.sh file instead.

                          But...
Now all the video previews in retropie is lagging and stuttering. It has not done that before this. How can it be related?
