Raspberry Pi 3B+ PPSSPP lag
-
Hello everyone! I recently installed RetroPie on my RPi 3B+ and wanted to try out some PSP games. I have Assassin's Creed Bloodlines and God of War Ghost of Sparta and I've been having some problems. Assassin's Creed Bloodlines mostly works, but I have some graphical glitches. God of War is where I have a big problem. It lags a lot! It only works OK on cinematics. I don't know what to do to fix it. My setup:
Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ at stock speeds, also have it in a case
5V 3A power supply I bought from a local tech store
RetroPie 4.5.1 preconfigured image
PPSSPP emulator (not LibRetro)
Xbox 360 wired controller
RPi connected to a 60Hz TVAny help will be much appreciated. Thank you!

There's no fix - the 3B+ is too slow to run all PSP games at full speed. While certain games can work reasonably well, other are too demanding to fluidly run on a RPI 3B+.

@mitu Thanks for replying. I understand that not all games will run good but isn't the RPi 3B+ more powerful than the PSP? Also, will we at least be able to run games well on the RPi 4 when RetroPie becomes available?

@Kosmas12 It emulates the hardware of a PSP which is very demanding. A PSP for example is much more powerful than the Snes, but it can't run each Snes game perfectly.
2d PSP games generally are no problem and some 3d games run well too (for example Virtua Tennis 3), but most of them are unplayable.
The Pi 4 is more powerful so I'm sure more games will be playable

Also if you look up God of War PSP emulation in general you will see it seems to be one of the hardest games to emulate at full speed in general on various hardware. So it may wind up being that even pi4 won’t do it.
