Is there a way to make a wired controller wireless?
-
Hi guys, I'm relatively new to this retro pi thing and been having a blast making cheap custom fight sticks out of old furniture and things from goodwill. People come over and love to play for days ! I have a new idea for an upcoming project. I want to install some joysticks and buttons into a bar table but I'm finding that the wires could be easily tripped over or could yank the pi off of its surface if caught. My question today is, is it possible to make a wired controller wireless? The DIY kits that I order off amazon use a usb, as all controllers should for pi. But is there such a thing as like a bluetooth transmitter that I could plug my fight stick into that the pi would read? with ofcourse a power source maybe from a portable charger. Maybe it's already a thing and I just dont know what it's called or maybe someone needs to Invent one asap and get some money because I'd definitely buy one for every build !

Something like GBros adapter ?
I'm not aware if there's something that functions as a general USB-to-Bluetooth bridge for wired controllers. 8Bitdo do also have a similar 'DIT mod-kits' that turns old controllers into wireless (Bluetooth) gamepads - see here for instance - so that may give you an idea. -
A "universal" USB game controller to bluetooth module would make a very interesting kickstarter project ;)

Very likely, it wouldn't be ideal for serious gaming. Maybe only for emulation with rewind enabled :P
