Retroarch 1.7.8
-
Is Retropie going to be getting Retroarch 1.7.8 anytime soon? I know they have been doing point releases to 1.7.8 but it would be great if we could get the latest one, should it be working OK since 1.7.7 apparently didn't.
Thanks

@mat they have pushed a few updates and I follow development. As it's a core component we do a fair amount of testing on more than one platform. We will update when we are ready.

Retroarch will now be updating much more frequently going forward.

I certainly understand the inherent danger in allowing users to update to the latest verisons without ample testing; however, it would be nice if in addition to the normal update options there were an option to upgrade to the latest stable release from source. Perhaps there could be a caveat "This will update to the latest stable release which may not have been fully tested for retropie, proceed at your own risk!"
Anyway, just a thought. Thanks to all the developers for their hard work on this project.

I see 1.80 is now released, are we ever gonna have the catch-ups by chance?
-
@mat not by chance no. I already answered this above.

really looking forward to the update myself. I'd love to do a halloween replay of SOTN with achievements.

is there anyplace we can check for regular updates?
