DXX-Rebirth - Nothing gets saved | How do those ports save?

Hi,

First of all, thanks to everyone that has been contributing to this project. This was exactly what I was waiting for. Been too long since I tried old games.

Pi Model: rPi3_B
RetroPie Version Used: 3.8 + upgraded
Built From: Binary
Controller used: Elite gamepad1 (MaxFire Blaze2?)
Error messages received: "Error writing savegame. Possibly out of disk space."
Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide)
File: ?
Emulator/game: DXX-Rebirth / d1x-rebirth (ports) v.0.58.1 + commercial game

On to the problem:
I used some time to fine-adjust everything in the game + the gamepad, only to realize after some levels that the game doesn't want to save the game (through [save game] ) or any settings on exit (like the buttons on the gamepad)

"Error writing savegame. Possibly out of disk space."

I've checked and the game/user should have rwx on both roms and config directories. Oddly enough, demos ARE being saved to configs/ports/descent1/demos/.

Any idea/help on how to tackle this is appreciated...

Tried D2 and the same happens there.

Tried reinstall from binary but that didn't work.

I don't know what was wrong, but rebuilding DXX from source (took a loong time) seem to have worked. It saves fine (so far) and it retains my game configs (same on D2)

There must have been a bug in the dxx-rebirth code when the last binaries were built. I have updated them and save is now working again (as you found when building from latest release). Thanks for the feedback.
