Joystick selection: Gamepad + Keyboard

Hello everyone,
I am trying to configure a controller (NES30) as Gamepad1 and the keyboard as Gamepad2. With the UI I can map the keys but both respond to Gamepad1.
I tried with the JoystickSelection script, but it lets me only choose the NES30 and not the keyboard as input device.
Is it possible to assign the keyboard to a different Gamepad?

By "UI" you mean EmulationStation? Are the input devices being seen as two separate things or the same thing in Retroarch?
