      @Darksavior,

      I did eventually follow your instruction and updated Retroarch to 1.8.1:

      "If you want to try retroarch 1.8.1 (a wip): Delete your RetroPie-Setup folder.
      Then:

      git clone --branch retroarch_178 --depth=1 https://github.com/cmitu/RetroPie-Setup.git

      Then:
      sudo nano /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/emulators/retroarch.sh and change v1.7.9.2 to v1.8.1

      I've only tested it on raspbian buster. No idea if it'll work on stretch. There seems to be a shader problem if trying to set them from retropie-setup I think, but I've had no issues saving them through the retroarch gui."

      Everything seems to be working fine on stretch but I do have this one intermittent problem and I'm wondering if you've experienced this as well... Every now and then the right 80% of the screen(including overlay border)goes black while I'm playing a game. The game continues to run fine besides the fact that it's mostly obscured If I go back to the emulationstation menu everything is fine. This apparently happens when using various different emulators and I haven't determined exactly when or what causes it. Sometimes I can get it to go back to normal without having to leave the game. Maybe someone else has seen this.

        @Keltron3030 I'm not sure since I don't use overlays. That guide is now outdated. You can now clone the main repo now since the updated retroarch build script's been merged to it. git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup.git

        The changing version numbers still works (nevermind, it doesn't). You can try 1.7.9.2 to see if the bug exists since that version's been tested by the devs.
        Make sure raspbian is fully updated.

          Did a bit more testing and it seems like the issue is somehow related to the new Retroarch menu widgets. I noticed the issue is tied to notification pop-ups. It happens when achievement leaderboards pop-up but it doesn't happen every time. My guess is this may have been an issue since that feature was added with 1.7.7. but I never had the problem when using Retroarch's Android build so maybe some other interactions are also at play.

            @Keltron3030 Looks like the devs reverted back to 1.7.6.

              Nah, it's fine for me. Minor inconvenience but being able to earn achievements in PlayStation is worth it. Is there a welcome place to report bugs? I mean I understand this isn't an issue with the current image but considering that the development team is working on a new image and assuming they won't be running Retroarch 1.7.6 forever I feel like it would make sense for beta testers to report bugs based on whatever version they plan on supporting in the new image.

              Has a Retroarch version been decided on for testing purposes or is the work not that far along yet?

                @Keltron3030 You can check their github. It has a pull-release for 1.7.9.2 that's waiting for review.

                      @BuZz oh, cool thanks. I haven't been on here since I manually updated to 1.8.2. So have you changed update from source to point to Retroarch's current stable now?

                          I have installed the latest version of retroarch, and it ignores the configuration of ../retroarch/autoconfig/*.cfg. Has something changed?

                          My fault, I gave him update joypad and it blocked my configuration. I deleted it and everything worked perfect.
