Does anyone know if any of the college football or basketball games work on the PS1 emulator, I tried playing NCAA college football 2000, and NCAA basketball 2001 for PS1 and the gameplay was extremely slow, the audio was way too choppy and the graphics were terrible. I am a beginner though, and I've heard many great things about emulating PS1 games on a Pi 3 B+, so is there something I have to do to my settings or is the game just simply not playable on retro pi? I have been able to get the Simpsons wrestling to work on the PS1 fairly well, though it is a little bit slow with some choppy audio it gets better as you keep playing it for some reason, but that is the only game I have had success with on that emulator. I'm running games off a USB drive and am using the basic PS1 emulator that was automatically written on my SD card when I wrote retro pi on the SD card (forgot what it's called). I tried overclocking from the retroarch settings, but that made no difference. I have a great power supply, so that's definitely not the issue and I did install the correct BIOS files for the PS1 emulator as well.

@ConradCopernicus I don't know about those games specifically. But almost all psx games should be fullspeed on a pi 3b+. Id recommend starting by reading this and posting all applicable info so we can help troubleshoot your issue.

Model: Pi 3 B+
Power Supply: not an issue(trust me)
Version: 0/1 version (Im not sure why, but the 2/3 version of retro pie was not compatible with my pi last time I downloaded it, which was this summer), This likely is the issue but it makes no sense why I can't get the 2/3 version to work on the Pi 3 B+, yet the 0/1 does
Error messages received: I'm not sure if it counts but I think there is an error after I select a rom but before it launches. It says a bunch of code in the upper left hand side of the screen and it doesn't have the typical launch. In other words, I don't have the "press a button to configure" screen before a rom launches.
Other errors: I can't change threaded video or bilinear filtering, the pi just goes back to the menu when I try to do this

What version of RetroPie are you using ? Did you add a BIOS file for the PS1 emulator ?

You sure you have a pi 3b+ and not a pi b+?

@quicksilver I think you are actually right, the Pi 3B+ and the Pi b+ look very similar. I have the model pi b+. I'm sorry about that, but at least that explains all my problems.

@ConradCopernicus upgrading to a newer pi model would be beneficial. Alternatively you can also try using just the standalone pcsxrearmed emulator found in the optional packages section of retropie setup. It's not a libretro emulator so you may need to manually map your controls and game compatibility is not as good, but performance should be better.
