Retropie how much free space i need ???

Hey , so i got the pi3b+ with Retropie 4.5.1.
and i got a big sd card 256gb.
But i fell it up so much , that now i only got 400mb' left.
Is that okay ?
does it matter ?

I'd say no, since if you drop below 5% you might have problems writing on it - the root user has usually reserved that space just in case rogue users/processes would fill the whole space.
