tldr: Just wondering if anybody in the community has successfully launched Dreamcast Windows CE games (eg. Sega Rally 2 or Q*Bert) on their Raspberry Pi with lr_flycast, or has knowledge if this is even supported on ARM devices.

      Why I'm asking:
Today I researched that around September of 2019, Flycast developer flyinghead merged the Flycast WinCE core into the main core.

So today, on a Raspberry Pi 4B, I started tinkering with some WinCE games, but still have not been able to launch them on the Pi. As typical, these games freeze on the loading screen with the Windows CE logo. This has always been the case due to lack of emulation support for WinCE games, but I had hoped they were now supported by lr-flycast.

Looking into retroarch/flycast core options, I do see a Windows CE option for Force Windows CE Mode, but changing the option (or HLE/BIOS settings) did not solve the boot issue.

Although the option appears, I suspect that WinCE support was not built for ARM (Raspberry Pi), and may only be supported by x86/Android.

Just looking to confirm so I will devote time in other areas.

      Best,
      Ros

Ugh. After another quick search, found the answer. It's not supported.

Will leave this here in case others get tripped up by seeing the "Force Windows CE Mode" in their flycast options. It's clearly not actually supported.

@roslof yea unfortunately wince mode is only available for 64 bit systems with flycast. Luckily the redream dev is/will be working on wince support. So cross your fingers his implementation works on 32 bit.

Don't expect too much from redream either, the actual reason for flycast having only x64 support for wince is explained at https://github.com/libretro/flycast/issues/802

So is Sega Rally 2 on Dreamcast possible at all on Raspberry Pi? Or is it just not an option?

I don't think the Arcade version is a goer either.

@AdamBeGood it's not an option right now. We will have to wait and see if redream is able to do it.
