New 4.0 Xbox 360 Controller problems - with Dreamcast and MAME 2010
-
Thanks for the reply. I've taken another good look at that chunky page of info but I can't see a solution to my problem there. I tried installing the Xpad driver but it made no difference that I can see.
My Xbox 360 controller was working pre 4.0 in everything, and now it isn't but only with a narrow range of emulators (lr-mame2010 and KAL-SMU1). My retroarch settings seem correct, and I've rewritten those that I can access for lr-mame2010. I tried rewriting those for KAL-SMU1 that did work perfectly but it makes no difference.
Any further help would be appreciated.

@OneSwitch Did you reconfigure your controller after enabling the xpad driver? (Also did you disable the xboxdrv first)

@herb_fargus
Is disabling just going into RetroPie setup and removing the driver or do I need to do something else? -
@huizingajm Yes all you have to do is disable it from the setup script (and then you'll need to reboot)

You beat me to my edit. Found the Option part of the driver menu and selected Disable. I was having issues with my two controller not working properly. Thanks as always for the quick responses. -
I've enabled the xpad driver (and disabled xboxdrv after, not first - my mistake). I can navigate the RetroPie menus, but I now can't do anything with RetroArch. My keyboard doesn't even work properly now (I guess it was set as a controller).
Thanks for quick responses. Hope this can be fixed. Just can't see how to do it now RetroArch GUI isn't accessible.

If it helps, 1.3.6 - No Core is all that appears when I enter the Retro Arch GUI from the RetroPie menu. I have to CTRL+ALT+DELETE to get out of it. Also, the LED ring just constantly flashes now on my controllers, whereas it used to denote player 1 / player 2 Xbox 360 style.

I managed to get controller access to RetroArch (deleted all the configs), and have set input 1 and 2 to correct settings. Still no access to the Dreamcast, and MAME 2010 seems messed up. If I pull down, I get a weird rapid down effect with the TAB/menu flashing on and off. I can't see anything obviously wrong with the MAME settings. Not sure if things are bugged, or I've done something to trip things up.

Reverted to old build as things just too unreliable with Xpad driver. Probably something I did, but I can't fathom it.

@OneSwitch worth trying on a fresh 4.0 just to eliminate any config issues

Thanks Herb. I think the Dreamcast strangeness was carried over from 3.8 and I only just noticed it later. Seemed to have swapped player 1 to player 2 joypad, but I've fixed that after some head-scratching.
Will try 4.0 when I get some spare time. Cheers anyway.
