Epic Noir - Dark Mode Theme
-
@sp, the reason behind the 3 digit font decimal was to try and get the font size as close as possible to Nico's original templates. However, RetroPie rounds up/down such numbers when rendering fonts, so there is no need for such decimals.
I only left them because they didn't seem to affect anything on my build.However, since you seemed to have issues with them I'll go through all the xmls and fix them accordingly.

@nil06 said in EPIC Theme! Noir - [Dark Mode Theme]:
@lilbud had nothing to do with this theme. I don't know why he keeps being credited for creating the theme, but the theme was built by me
I was only credited because chicuelo put my name in the OP by accident. But apparently it was up long enough for people to be mistaken.
-
@lilbud I figured as much; no worries! It's all good. :)
-
Hi guys, we are fixing some issues with font sizes and it will be updated soon.
We also are sharing from now a 4:3 version (link on top) -
@lilbud Sorry was my fault!
-
@SP @Mr-Berlin
The theme is updated and now it should be displayed fine. Please share your screens! -
Hi, could this theme work on the pi4?
-
@chicuelo Hey, I re-downloaded it and it is working. Thank you.
Also, since I use an Xbox One controller, is there a way I can change the enter button to display the B Button instead? I was able to do it in the game selection screen, but I can't seem to find a way to change it here. Pic below:
If it's not possible, then no worries.
-
@rajbhalsod Currently there are not official versions of Retropie for the Pi4. But of course it will work when they relase it.
-
@SP That Button is a svg file, if you have Illustrator you can do it!

@Wildfire thanks mate!

@SP Thanks! more systems will come soon
-

I have two questions concerning chicuelos great work:
-
i tired to follow the installation-instructions in the download link of the first post: "cd ~/.emulationstation/themes
git clone https://github.com/c64-dev/es-epicnoir.git --branch master" / i was asked for my "git-hub username" to continue. Do i have to register to download the theme? -
After that i had a look if the Noir-Theme is alleready available in the themes-section of retropie_setup. It was not, but i saw something like "chicuelo arcade theme" in the list. Does this concern to my installed Chicuelo-Theme which is no longer available? If so, can i still update / is it worth updating (still works great, no issues)?

If you have troubles downloading the theme you can manually download via web and transfer via ftp to your themes folder in
opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/themes/ and place it there. Then you select the theme and you are ready to go.
Make sure you have installed emulation station-Dev in order to work on your pi.The other theme on the list was my first theme, it was free to download too until I saw several people selling their pi or cabs with this theme and claiming as a their so I shutted down. This theme is free by now but it depends on peoples behave.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
