I am wondering if anyone has got a standard wii sensor bar to work with a wiimote on retropie/retroarch

I realise a mayflash dolphin bar is the way to go but in these times of not getting products from overseas it may not happen for a while.

So i would like to know if anyone has any instructions (or can point me in the right direction) on getting the standard wii sensor bar to work

I never thought to try. Which game/emulator would you use it with?

        Currently running:
Retropie 4.8.9 on a Pi Zero 2W (Overclock Settings: CPU 1400Mhz)
        ES-DE on a GMKtec K6 (Windows 11, 32GB RAM)

The sensor bar is nothing but a pair of infrared lights. The cord is just for power. You can use two candles in front of your TV and it will work. You also might be able to get a battery powered sensor bar from GameStop on their website. They used to have piles of them in their Used gear.

That said, I think the Mayflash Dolphin Bar is much more than just a sensor bar. I think it has hardware to do all the internal processing of the wiimote positioning data.
