the retropie msx page (https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/MSX) has a section for the openMSX emulator has a section titled "50 or 60Hz?" that talks about how having some frequency setting can cause "European software that runs too fast on a Japanese machine type".

i've been using the lr-fmsx emulator and am experiencing something like this, i think - trying to play a vampire killer rom i have but in lr-fmsx the emulation speed seems off; it's too fast and also not at a constant speed.

i was wondering if anyone knows if/how to adjust some frequency setting like what's described for the openMSX emulator in lr-fmsx. i was exploring the RGUI options for lr-fmsx and i'm not sure which one(s) apply to this situation.

The core should have an option for selecting between PAL/NTSC (MSX Video Mode (NTSC/PAL)) - have you tried setting it for your game ?

@mitu thanks for the response. yes, i've just tried changing this - i accessed the RGUI, navigated to Options - MSX Video Mode, and changed it from NTSC to PAL. after resuming the game, the music is slower but i no longer have control of the game - i.e., i my d-pad won't move the character and my buttons aren't mapped as they were before making that change. MSX Video Mode is the only change i made. odd...

if i put it back to NTSC and resume the game, the music is sped up but i still don't have control of the game character. i have to exit the emulator and relaunch the game to get my controller mapping back. is this as expected?
