support for SuperModel3 on retropie

@pierpa86 they said it was unplayable even though they got it running. Doubtful youll get more than 10FPS at best.
-
they say that on Raspy pi 2 and and old versione of emulator. i need to try on RPI3

You'd pick up a few frames with the RPi3, but not enough to make the kind of difference you're looking for. I absolutely love the Raspberry Pi, but it's fighting too far outside of it's weight class on this one. Below is a link discussing the minimum system requirements to run various games in Supermodel.

do we know if we had any progress for aSuperModel support on Retropie?
-
It's very likely that this never be playable on a Raspberry Pi. The system requirements are just too high.
-
I highly doubt an RPI3 will ever support Model 3. I have a moderately beefy PC, and it BARELY runs Model 3. I was excited to play Star Wars Trilogy, only to find out it runs extremely slow, and only renders maybe half of the layers.

Good evening everyone,
i am using a raspberry pi4 with retropie and i wanted to install super model 3 but i don't know how.
I read a post where he explains but I miss the first step where he says to extract the emulator here:
/ Opt / retropie / emulators /
I can't find this direcory.
I have no experience with it. If anyone could explain me in a simple way I would thank him.
Thanks -
@sasuke1975 Linux is case-sensitive, so
/Opt
is not the same as/opt
. But you should read the whole topic before attempting to install - the emulator would not be usable on a Pi. -
Hi,
op is tiny.
The seat dates back to 2016 when the RP4 was not yet on the market.
So you can't install super model 3?
Thanks -

Sure, but if even then emulation on a PC was imperfect and slow, it would still not be better on a PI 4.
So you can't install super model 3?
Not at this time. But there are lots of other systems in RetroPie you could use to play, maybe give those a try.

Hi,
I have installed several but I have always been interested in model 3 for the quality of the games.
but in general, if you want to install the emulator not included in the list, how do you do it? it's complicated?
Thanks -

It's not that complicated, but I imagine that for somebody that it's just beginning to learn Linux and Retropie is not easy.
Take a look at the documentation (https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Add-a-New-System-in-EmulationStation/#step-32-launch-roms-with-the-shell-scripts) to see how to add a new system/platform using a simple shell script to launch the emulators/games that are not part of RetroPie's packages.
