@francis2019 The only wireless snes controllers are from 8bitdo. I hate my sfc30 pad. Useless dpad. Looking at all the tape mods for just about every model, it looks like little was done to improve the dpad.

Or the ones from Nintendo - if you can get them.

@Darksavior You can use a lot of wireless controllers for SNES games, not just ones that replicate the look of the original gamepads.

@IanDaemon I know, but op asked about snes. If it's any wireless controller, I recommend the ps4 one.

Well if you want to go Wireless and don't want the hassle of Bluetooth input lag you could get a Classic controller to USB adapter - V3 from raphnet-tech and then buy a SN30 2.4G and SF30 2.4G for SNES and SFC Classic Edition from 8Bitdo.

ok so the only good options are the 8bit DTO who comes with a attachement for the classsic SNES and I need to buy a converter to convert the signal to a USB. like this one:
                  https://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/wusbmote_1player_adapter_v3/index.php

What other good options there is, with other controler type than SNES.

These are definitely not 'the best 2020 SNES wireless' controllers.

What's wrong with the 8bitdo sfc30? I have been using it for a couple of years with no issues. I love it. Admittedly I use it with PC but feel no input lag, so if there is bluetooth lag it's on the pi's side, not the controller (yes I know bluetooth has inherent input lag but I'm very sensitive to lag and it's barely noticeable for me on PC).

@PlayingKarrde I know there was a firmware update that improved input lag. Maybe the "bad reputation" is prior to the update.

From what I remember, the worst reputation was mainly for accidentally creating 'diagonals' with the D-Pad when pressing Up/Down or Left/Right.

They're ok, I have a SFC30 and it served me well.

I bought that nes pro 8bitdo controller around 5 years ago and hated it because most of the time it would not register when I pressed up+right. I had to press the buttons kinda hard for it to work or it would only register as up. So I just threw it in the box and forgot about it, and kept using my X1 controller.

Fast forward to around february of this year. I was looking at a lot of youtube videos of the sn30 snes controller. All the videos that I saw were giving it great reviews and said there were no issues with the dpad. I figured, why not? It's been years since I bought the nes pro. So maybe the dpad is fixed. So I ordered one. I received it and I immediately tried it with Contra 3. The diagonals worked, but the down input is a little too sensitive. Whenever I lie down in the game, sometimes the character will randomly get up and walk left or right while I hold down on the dpad causing me to sometimes get killed by a bullet. It was enough to get me to go back to my X1 controller again.

So for me the best snes controller to use is the Xbox one controller. To be honest, I thought I was gonna have problems with it due to the dpad being positioned at the lower left of the controller, but I have had absolutely no issues with it. The only reason I got the sn30 controller was because I loved the look of the DMG colored one. Oh, well.

On the other hand, the M30 8bitdo Sega Genesis/Saturn controller is freaking great and I have no issues with the dpad.

                                BOO!

That's too bad :( My daily driver is actually the SN30 pro+ and use it over all my other controllers (my previous go tos were the Switch Pro and the Xbox Elite). I don't have any dpad issues with mine although now I'm going to be scrutinizing it a lot more...

@PlayingKarrde That's because they aren't using the old garbage dpad pcb design anymore that I noticed from a disassembly video.

I mainly use real snes pads because I gave up looking.

                                      @Darksavior Interesting. Good to know.

In that case I recommend the SN30 pro+ as the best controller :)

@PlayingKarrde I've been told I'm too critical, but then I see pictures of people doing the dpad tape mod on past models...

@PlayingKarrde Man, the Switch pro controller has the down input issue as my sn30. That and the infuriating random input lag. Like a full second of it sometimes rears its ugly head. Like, what the hell?

But that might be because of the switch or something because it sometimes happens too when I hook up my joycons to that controller adapter thingy.

I'm generally happy with 8bitdo. Yes, the d-pads are far from perfect but there's no better option out there.
