      Hello
This is my first post. I have been able to find most of my questions. I updated from 4.5 to 4.6 and I was not able to use any type of remote once the emulation started in the game. I tried multiple emulator with out success. I ended up going back to original 4.5 and everything works. I updated by going into settings and selecting the update button. Can I get the best way to update. I'm new to Pi and would prefer to do it from within the Retropie software. Step by step would be great.
Pi Model or other hardware: Pi 4, 4gb
      Power Supply used: 3.5 amp
RetroPie Version Used: back to 4.5.1 trying for 4.6
      Built From: RetroPie website
      USB Devices connected: keyboard
Controller used: SNS controller with 2.4 dongle

      Thank you for any help
      Tobey

I don't think 4.5.1 ever supported the Pi4, so how did you installed RetroPie on your Pi4 and what - exact - version were you running before the update ?

As with all controllers, if you add a new controller (which is what I assume you mean by 'remote'), you need to configure it first in EmulationStation. Did you try re-configuring your controller after the update ?

I bought it online. httpx://www.ebay.com/itm/174232251685?ul_noapp=true. It could be 4.5.
The controller was working fine with the build before i updated to 4.6. Then it would not work once the emulator started. So I went back to the to the stock retropie build that came with my pi 4 kit. What i am looking for is can how do I update to 4.6 and keep all of my roms and settings. Can I update thru the the settings or do i do something else. Sorry if i'm being vague, i'm still learning.
          thank you again.

We don't support 3rd party images and selling RetroPie is against the project's license. You've been scammed by paying for RetroPie and we don't support scammers.

If you want to support you, start with the image from retropie.org.uk/download and follow the installation/Getting Started guides in the Docs to install RetroPie.

Ok. I have 23000 roms on it. Once I download the official 4.6 how do I add roms, and art work? Is there document that I can follow?
