Hey buzz i found in several emulators the first time i went into them they worked fine, but then the second time it added all the config junk like he posted. Some did it the first time like the psx.

@edmaul69 because your configs didn't have a newline at the end (perhaps because you used floob video tool?) - This is worked around in the last retropie-setup script.

you will need to update retropie-setup, remove that config, and re-install the snes emulator. Should sort it. This problelm happened when the config file doesnt contain a newline on the last line of config, which can happen if manually editing on some editors, or using floob's video tool for example.

@noguera I don't see a problem in your configs - but its not related to the problem people are having here so you are best to start a new topic - it is far too confusing having 3-4 problems on a single topic.

@BuZz i actually have no clue what floobs video tool is or does as i have never used it or looked at it. I had stuff i added after the #include line that i know retroarch was moving and after the few got messed up i put the info before the #include and it seems fine. But i will try to test more thoroughly and if i have an issue i will just update the emulators as you have suggested.

There was an issue in runcommand that it would mess the configs if they didn't end in a newline character (so technically the last line being incomplete). This is worked around now, but could have caused a problem if the file was manually edited. I have fixed a few things since 4.0 that have been noticed since the release and will likely do a new image soon - in the meantime please update retropie-setup to avoid this happening. cheers.

@BuZz Just to confirm -- reinstall the the snes emulator from the backend by accessing the "Edit Configurations" option in the RetroPie Menu? If so, I will do what you recommend when I get back home today.

                        Please try the following.

                        • From a terminal please do rm /opt/retropie/configs/snes/retroarch.cfg or delete the file over windows networking
                        • Go to Emulation Station -> RetroPie and do Update RetroPie-Setup script
                        • Go to Manage Packages -> Main section > lr-snes9x-next - and choose "Update from binary"

                        and all should be good.
