      Hi,

I've just installed a fresh copy of Retropie 4.0 and connect it to my 48inch TV and there seems to be a black border of an inch or 2, can this be removed?

      Thanks

you can adjust the overscan by editing the config.txt file in the boot directory. It took some trial and error to get it working perfectly on my main TV. For whatever reason, on other TVs it worked just fine without tweaking, and even after the manual tweak, it still looks good on other TVs.

For me I uncomment the disable_overscan line, so it read disable_overscan=1

Then I select just scan on the tv for display mode. Your TV might label it differently, but look for the tv setting that doesn't resize the incoming image.

Do you bother with any of these?

uncomment if hdmi display is not detected and composite is being output

              #hdmi_force_hotplug=1

uncomment to force a specific HDMI mode (this will force VGA)

              #hdmi_group=1
              #hdmi_mode=1
