I'm a huge fan of 8bitdo controllers, and have been buying their Bluetooth controllers for a while now due to their compatibility and that they use USB-C.

Recently however I've seen/heard discussion that their 2.4GHZ controllers are better, more reliable, and have little to no input lag compared to BlueTooth.

So I thought I'd ask the community, which is better?

I'm sure the biggest reason this has garnered no replies is that Bluetooth IS 2.4Ghz.

I use wireless Xbox 360 controllers that sync to a USB adapter. The lights on the controller even light up to show which player you are. They are by far one of the easier type of controller to setup on the pi. Just wish the dpad was a bit better but after all these years I'm used to then by now.

While that is true, they aren't the same protocol.

The SN30 2.4GHZ version can only work with their 2.4GHZ dongles, and not blue tooth.. it is not universal

While the Bluetooth version can work with any Bluetooth capable device, but the dongle is sold seperately
            https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Sn30-Bluetooth-Gamepad-Sn-Nintendo/dp/B07GK8LJBJ/ref=pd_sbs_63_7?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07GK8LJBJ&pd_rd_r=2669e596-b69c-4bfc-bc13-2e1906a42450&pd_rd_w=uxy7C&pd_rd_wg=D9CpO&pf_rd_p=d13bb895-21d3-4e96-94a7-553aaae51224&pf_rd_r=31X5SBQFWHGY1FWX1P6C&psc=1&refRID=31X5SBQFWHGY1FWX1P6C

Both can be hooked up directly, and I prefer the Bluetooth version of the newer controllers due to using USB-C instead of MicroUSB, but I've heard from a few people/sites that the 2.4 are faster with less input lag

            and

However, I've noticed that after updating the BlueTooth controller/adapters 8bitdo sells, they seem to have sped up with my Pi... but I am curious if they really did become more stable, or is there something else.
