      Hi all,

I installed a 8bitdo dongle for my xbox one controller after weeks of trying to pair to regular bluetooth and it worked like a charm to pair.

It maps every button and works fine in the menus and in the dreamcast emulator.

The issue i have is when i launch mame through the arcade header the controls stop working and on loading gives an error message about '8bitdo not configured in this emulator'. The controls don't work and in continuing a game even flip the screen upside down!

      Any ideas?

As i say they map fine on controller set up of retropie.

I've updated my setup script and refreshed all drivers

You must have reset your configuration for the MAME system you're trying to play and the auto-configuration for joypads doesn't work in RetroArch.

You could reset the retroarch.cfg to the defaults and it should pick up the auto-configuration. What system are your roms in ?

@mitu they're in the 'arcade' roms folder.

Did you use 'Save/Reset Configuration' from the RetroArch's RGUI ?
Please add also the information requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first to your post.

@mitu Hi, aplogies if i'm going about this wrong as I'm a noob.

I'm using a 4gb raspberry pi 4 with an official cable and using version 4.5? ( 2nd to last build as I've not installed latest version yet)

I didn't know that I need 2 sets of controller configs I will try going in through r.arch setup?

I'm sure it's just something silly that I've not done but should have.

I truly appreciate all the help :)

Actually, it might be the contrary. When using Save/Reset from the RetroArch's interface, some settings automatically set through RetroPie (like controller configuration) might be reset, hence the fact that controls are not working for one system, but work on the others.

What about the rest of the details asked in the read-me-first-page ?

@mitu i'm using a no frills build that i got through reddit but was just a fresh version of retropie.
.im using an xbox minecraft controller that is equivalent of xbox S version.

It's only Mame using mame2003 emulator but it does the same with neo version too.
