I got a retropie awhile ago. I have a problem with booting emulationstation.

Also all honesty accidentially by stupidity I deleted a certain file in boot.

I got this error which said- ERROR - tried to write log file before it was open! The following won't be logged:
lvl10: Could not parse setting a file!
      No document element found
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std: :logic_error'
      what (): basic_string_: : _M_construct null not valid
      Aborted.
      Any ideas?

Please add more info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

        Try re-installing emulationstation from the RetroPie-Setup - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Updating-RetroPie/#using-the-retropie-setup-script.

That's not how you 'enable' EmulationStation, I don't know why you're trying that. The documentation page I linked explains how to update your packages, the first step being to run the RetroPie-Setup script:

The conventional way to update RetroPie and install new features is through the setup script.
The setup script can be accessed from the RetroPie menu in EmulationStation.

It can also be accessed from the terminal with sudo ~/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.sh

                That's barely enough information - see https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

We don't support 3rd party images, especially the ones sold with ROMs and RetroPie. Ask the seller for support, we don't support scammers that sell RetroPie preloaded - it's against the project's license.
