My volume works for everything else, but actually playing games. I have speakers plugged into my rasberry pi directly since the hdmi did not work. I am using an arcade 1 up. Please help.

Did you configure the Audio in RetroPie to use the Headphone jack (instead of HDMI) ?
Please add more info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

@mitu Yes i have. Im using a raspberry pi 4 with a wolfanoz 64gb image. I have the 3.5mm jack in the raspberry pi itself and have sound during selection screens and startup with no issues. But when i load a game it has no sound. Not only that, when i try to adjust the system volume in the menu it then always reverts it back to 0% i have tried everything to save it at 100% but goes right back to 0% everytime

@valerie228 We don't support 3rd party images - it's laid out clearly in the https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first page.
