Help to run script before emulation station start
-
How can i run a script.sh or py before start the emulation station? I made a script to run on startup but runs only when i push the f4. I want to run on boot but before starts the emulation station service. I tryed to make a service with Excstart but is not running.

Put in in
/opt/retropie/configs/all/autostart.sh
before the lineemulationstation #auto

Can i run bib bash and the code directly from there without a sh or py file?

@Clyde i am trying to secure litle my setup on my image. I made a script... It takes the cpu serial and compare it with a serial i gived . If the serial is same stops and after run the emulationstation but if the serial of cpu is different the the raspberry shutdown. Now is running the script but only when i push the f4 for command. If i dont push the f4 the retropie runs without problem and this is my problem. I want to secure my image from other people who want my image and they want to clone my sd card. If they want the same image they can make. I have change almost everything from my own custom images and the emulators to my own custom splash screens and loading logos. Images for the consoles are from my studio and loading png images and splash screen from my adobe aftereffects.

Are you distributing your image to users ? There's nothing stopping a Linux user to 'back-up' or copy any distributed image. This little workaround, with the serial number, it's easily bypassed by any intermediate Linux user.

@mitu i know that of course but here on my city and the people who want the image they dont have any idea of linux.
-
@nikosfx180 So you're just a scammer that sells preloaded RetroPie images ?
-
@mitu not for selling. i build retromachines and they are download images from anywhere if they want my image they must give me back the machine to unlock the image in new sd card because they can build machines and copy my image and then they can sell the machines with my image.
-
because they can build machines and copy my image and then they can sell the machines with my image.
@nikosfx180 What does your image provide that is not included in the RetroPie image ?
@mitu i know that of course but here on my city and the people who want the image they dont have any idea of linux.
Having the internet at your fingertips does wonders for any determined user.

@mitu two people here are making machines and sell extra images on sd cards and the images are free on the internet.

i took photos from the consoles on my photography studio onw by one splashscreen created on adobe after effects, favorites has my own custom background and i add pcsx2 emulator extra, modify the emulation station cfg and add antimicro for controlers to remup the esc button on the controler for exit games from pcsx2 emulator. the emulator is not running smooth but is running. So ihave spend lot of time on my image to crate something good and i dont want to copy this people the image and sell it with cabinets and make money with my image.

Selling RetroPie images is against the project's license. You're nothing but a scammer.
