      Hi,

I use imame4all on my Pi Zero GPI case, and lr-gpsp on my GPI case.
Neither of these seem to work on version 4.6.

Imame4all crashes the whole system as soon as it loads a rom, and lr-gpsp just returns to the emulationstation menu after trying to load a rom.

I prefer to use imame4all over lr-mame2000 as it has hi score saving, and lr-gpsp is the only GBA emu that runs well on the zero.

I have also tested lr-gpsp on a pi3 and a pi4 both running Retropie 4.6 with no luck.

      Does anyone have any ideas?

      Many thanks :)

lr-gpsp doesn't seem to work in Raspbian Buster, it's a known issue. Do you have a log file for the mame4all crash ?

          @mitu Yeah,

          Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/mame4all/mame "1942"

Sorry if the formatting is off, I'm not to familiar with paste bin.

          Thanks for your help :)

Well, there's no error message, so not much to see why/where it fails. If you're sure the ROM is correct, and it's from the right ROMset for the emulator, try using lr-mame2000 as a workaround, it supports the same ROMset.

@mitu yeah I can do, I just prefer imame4all due to hiscore support. The romset is definitely correct, the only thing which has changed is the upgrade to buster / retropie 4.6.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated :)

Hi. I can confirm same for the regular mame4all - crashes as soon as a ROM loads. This is a brand new image on a pi zero w. As soon as a ROM loads, it displays the very first part of its internal ROM check then everything freezes and you need to power cycle the Pi. For example, I tried Amidar, you get a screenful of red zeros then a complete freeze. Similar behaviour for any other MAME ROMs.

                Cheers

Just to give this a little push - I did a fresh install on a Pi 1 yesterday and have exactly the same issue. ROMs are working more or less fine with lr-mame2000 , but I would love to have mame4all running as it seems to have a better performance with the Pi1.

No log is created - not by starting mame via commandline nor by runcommand. Simply freezes after initialisation of first ROM part.
Is there maybe a way to monitor what's happening via ssh?

Edit: Did a reinstall from source of mame4all duringthe night - no change.

Hi, I have the same issue happened on my GPI case (PI Zero, Retropie 4.6). both GBSP and LR-GBSP don't work for gba rom, and mame4all doesn't work either.

@telar the lr-gpsp should be solved with an update - make sure you update your RetroPie-Setup and then re-install lr-gpsp from source.
