Xbox 360 Controller not working on select psx games

Recently, I added the DOOM playstation version onto my Raspberry Pi 3B with Retropie V4.6 installed.
As soon as I booted it up, the controls for my Xbox 360 wired controller didn't register input in game. They still worked in the main menu and quick menu, as well as several other games on different platforms. However, most of my psx games stopped receiving input from the controller. I've looked in the quick menu and made absolutely sure that I set the ports to register it as a 'dualshock' controller.
Some psx games still work with it like Resident Evil: Director's Cut, but I've never faced this problem before and I'm wondering whether I should just reinstall Retropie completely. Would that work?

Some psx games are not compatible with Dualshock controller . You have to change the controller, from quick menu, to standard.
