I'm liking Retropie, I've tried many times to get retro gaming up and running and often either the setup is a nighmare or things just don't work right.
So far RetroPie has been painless. So much so in fact that I decided that I'd install Kodi and merge multiple devices.

After a bit of a hiccup accessing my Samba shares things are looking up with only 1 more hurdle to clear. Upgrading inputstream adaptive to 2.4.4.

I have a Kodi plugin that needs inputstream adaptive 2.4.4 and when I prompt for an update I'm informed that 2.3.17 (the one installed) is the most current.

I performed a complete update last night from the Retropie menu's and said Yes to the base OS update. When I checked the version I get:

      Release: 9.11
      Codename: stretch

I added 'raspbian buster' to my sources list with no improvement.

When I do an apt update I see:
      raspbian stretch
      raspbian buster
      and
      pipplware/dists/stretch/main/binary

I don't know what pippleware is, it's not in my sources list.

I did check http://pipplware.pplware.pt/pipplware/dists/ and noticed there was a buster distro listed which had the inputstream adaptive 2.4.4 deb file.
I grabbed that file and tried to install it but I was told it was for Buster and not Stretch.

How can I get inputstream adaptive upgraded to 2.4.4?

That's because the previous version of the RetroPie image (4.5) was based on Raspbian Stretch. If you install the latest image (4.6), you'll be running on a Raspbian Buster image and the package could possibly work.

How did you install RetroPie ?

That's strongly not recommended and could break some of your packages.
