Pi Model or other hardware: 4B
Power Supply used: Official Pi4 PSU
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.6.4
Built From: Image directly from retropie website
    USB Devices connected: Keyboard
    Controller used: 8bitdo SF30 Pro
Error messages received: Black screen on Amiberry
    Emulator: Amiberry 3.2beta
Attachment of config files: (PLEASE USE PASTEBIN.COM FOR LARGE LOGS)
How to replicate the problem: Start a game from amiberry

    Hi

Just having an issue starting Amiga games through Amiberry.
I understand I am using a retropie beta version and amiberry beta version so there's bound to be some bugs.

I basically downloaded and installed the retropie 4 image from the website. Then installed Amiberry from source.
Moved over the kickstart roms and a few games.
Everything was working perfectly. Games were running ok

I have then ran an update from the retropie menu and updated Retropie to 4.6.4 and updated Amiberry also.
Now when I go to start an Amiga game from Amiberry I receive a black screen with a mouse pointer.
    No error message occurs.
I have recreated the symlinks and updated the whdload.xml file and I have removed the amiberry config folder uninstalled and reinstalled amiberry.

Any help appreciated, I will likely install retropie from scratch again

    Regards

    Jimi

There could be an issue with the new Amiberry version - but you can try installing the emulator from binary, instead of using the source version.

@mitu I actually just tried that :) and it is working ok.

Do you know if there is a difference with the pre-compiled and source version?

Now when I run Amiberry directly from the retropie menu I have to press a button to enter the GUI and when I escape to exit it
goes to an Amiga workbench screen. No real issue with it just curious as to why it may do this.
        Games are running fine.

        Regards

        Jimi

Yes, the binary is built from a different (earlier) version of Amiberry. The binaries are not automatically updated for each new upstream change.
