Hello, using PI 4, Retropie 4.6, Mame2003 plus.
Just starting to hook up my Yoke and Alan-1 Flight Yoke adapter. Do I set up the control type through RGUI or through Mame? I was playing with it for a little bit last night with no success. Anything easy I might be missing from the start? I updated the firmware to 3.1, trying to play Star Wars.

      Thanks :)

Try using advmame, its better suited to vector games and analog controls. If you haven't already, update it to v3.9. Have a look at my posts, I've got a homebuilt upright star wars cabinet running a Pi3B+ and an Alan-1 yoke.

Oh, another thing, flash the adapter with the 'windows' version of the firmware as it has zero deadzone and defaults to this. If you use the 'linux' version, it defaults to a 10% deadzone.

@james-milroy Things are starting to work, but I am not getting it to return to center. Is this an adjustment somewhere??

@challenger2010 The yoke doesn't autocenter on mame2003 plus. I couldn't find out why it didn't. Also I was getting glitching in the audio when you destroyed the Death Star. I moved over to advmame 3.9. It has better analog support, runs Star Wars at 100% and no glitching. There are a few settings that can be applied to make the vectors more authentic looking. I'm running on a 17" 5:4 aspect monitor with a native resolution of 1280x1024. Its running at 1280x960 with small black borders at the top and bottom of the screen.

@james-milroy Thanks! I am going to try Mame2003 before moving on to ADVMame.

                  Thanks again!

@james-milroy OK! I am using ADVMame on the PI4. So I think it is version 3.x. Pretty much plug and play...thanks!!!! Is there a way to get rid of the menu that pop up menu when trying to exit? Probably my last software hurdle!

                    Thanks for the help :)

@challenger2010 I haven't tinkered too much with software yet on my build. I was more interested in getting everything working first. The deadzone issue was probably the most important for me. I would like my cabinet to boot into Star Wars bypassing EmulationStation. I have the code to do this but haven't got around to trying it out yet. I'll definitely have a look at misc_safequit no for a clean exit as well.
