Question about platforms.cfg elements
-
What does the platform element actually do? I know how to change the fullname and the theme and extensions, they're straight forward and easy to figure out. But what does platform do?
If I want to add a snes-hacks folder do I set the platform to snes-hacks or snes? And why?
Thanks in advance. I couldn't find an explanation of this in the docs or through searching here on the forums.

platform
is used by the internal EmulationStattion scraper to determine the platform/system for that folder and to query the scraping source (TGDB/ScreenScraper).If I want to add a snes-hacks folder do I set the platform to snes-hacks or snes? And why?
You should set it to
snes
, there's nosnes-hacks
platform registered in EmulationStation. -
