    Raspberry Pi 3
Was running the prior 4.0 release and all was well.
Updated to the 4.0.2 and told it to update the installed packages. After that my generic USB SNES style controller did not working in any emulator, I then tried my USB XBOX 360 controller and had the same result. They both still worked fine in ES. I ran the controller setup to remap the buttons on both and they now work in games. However the SELECT + ???? hotkeys do not work on either controller in any emulator.

I have copied my old retroarch.cfg from a backup I may a few weeks ago with no improvement. Any thoughts?

I can connect my USB keyboard and either use "Escape" to exit a game or use the keys I have bound as select and start.

I am updating to 4.0.2. Anyone on 4.0.2 still face the same problem?

So i copied the contents of my /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/usbgamepad.cfg

            into /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/udev/usb gamepad .cfg

yes, all of those spaces are in the name.

I then reloaded ES and tried a few games and my hot keys worked. Looks as though some of the paths for where it is reading configuration info from have changed, but they are not being written to correctly.

The Xbox360 cfg file in /udev/ was a little more tricky to edit since there seem to be new input_label options added to the bottom of the new file. Looked it over and spliced the data in and it worked. This should work for any controller that exists in both locations. Please post your results.

Well, I've not figured out a solution, so, i installed retropie 4.0 again.

Strangely, I have updated to 4.0.2 without any issues. All hot keys with Select button worked like a charm as before. How luckily I am!
