I accidentally put my controller in incorrectly when I first set up my Retropie. So, I looked up how to fix it, and it gave me some lines in terminal to put in. These are the lines.

      rm /home/pi/.emulationstation/es_input.cfg
      Then hit enter
      emulationstation
      Then hit enter

I was able to reconfigure the controller, but how do i keep it from reconfiguring the controller every time i boot?
      Thanks!!

P.S. Is already checked the post, he doesn’t say how to fix this... So any help is really appreciated. I also am on the most recent version of Retropie.

You shouldn't have removed the es_input.cfg file, that's not the proper way to reset your controls. Re-install emulationstation from RetroPie-Setup and re-configure your controller.

I just logged on now, and it appears to be working fine now.... Do I still need to reinstall retropie if nothings broken? I also made a backup before I deleted that file, should I just restore? I don’t know why it just fixed itself. Thanks!

What's the content of the file you deleted (es_input.cfg) ?
