Re: [Pi2Scart on Pi4](no video signal)

      Hello again! :)

Sorry for starting a new topic but I´m still hoping to get some help...

So I´ve downloaded the official Retropie Software Buster 4.6, hooked up my pi4, updated everything and had everything running fine on hdmi.

Then I edited the config.txt file, as described on the pi2scart website.

But still I only get a black screen on my crt, no idea what´s going wrong!

I´ve compared my config.txt file with some other users in this forum having trouble getting the pi2scart working but as far as I can see, my config.txt file is exactly the same... Am I missing something? Does anything else need to be changed?

Any help would be great! Thanks!

      My config file:

You're missing one important bit - telling the Pi to output the video over the GPIO

Glad you got it working. Truth be told, the vendors of Pi2Scart don't have a proper documentation page to outline what needs to be configured on the Pi, they only provide pre-made images.

@mitu Yeah, that´s true. The product itself seems to be good, but instructions on the website are minimal to say the least...

Really pleased to see you got things working, Sam, and you've inspired me to dust off my RPi4 in the near future and try again to set it up with my Pi2scart/CRT.

I was so frustrated with the lack of basic setup assistance, as well as my own lack of understanding, that I put my RPi4 in the cupboard and bought a RPi3 - All because I found a website that assisted installation using a RPi3 only!

Anyway, works beautifully. You're right, it's a great piece of kit!

@DJMoss Yeah, get your Pi4 out! It does work if you know how!

To be fair, without mitu pointing out my mistake I would have taken considerably longer to get it going.

I fully understand your frustration, I was at that point myself! On most websites people just tell you to get a Pi3 with no real help. I even ordered a hdmi to composit adapter just as back up if i fail miserably. It arrived yesterday :D

Now that I´ve got retro pi running on it I still need to fine tune it but will post my progress on this forum. Unfortunately I couldn´t find a way to PM other members or I would have already contacted you to exchange experiences in setting up the pi2scart device!

                    Cheers, Sam

@tenzo0 said in Still no signal pi2 scart, Pi4:

You haven't configured anything to make the Pi2Scart work. The configuration file is the stock RetroPie, why would you expect this to work automatically ?

Either way, this is a very old topic, I'd suggest you opening a separate topic for your questions and also provide some info about your setup when you do so, as asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
