I’ve assembled the my new pHAT BEAT and attached it to my Raspi 3B+. I’m running Retropie 4.6.6 based on Raspbian Stretch. I attempted to install the driver for the pHAT Beat from the command prompt and rebooted. No sound. Back at terminal prompt, I used aplay -L To get a list of the audio cards or chips, and pHAT Beat doesn’t appear. I was hoping someone knew how to fix this issue? Would really like to finish my mobile arcade with the pHAT Beat sound system working. Anyone got any ideas?

The 4.6 image is based on Raspbian Buster, why are you using an old release ?

Can you post the config.txt and /etc/asound.conf files ?
