I keep finding new ways to make Kodi launch to a black screen. Today I think it was once due to uninstalling a the Carbon retropie theme and later I think a Kodi skin failed. Is there a way to uninstall Kodi from the command line so I can reinstall or do I have to keep reformatting my SD and reload everything?

@jtu128 Emulations Station skins don't affect Kodi. Older skins can be incompatible with Kodi 16.1.

You can remove/install Kodi again in the RetroPie-Setup scripts. If you want to remove Kodi from the command line, it is like in most of linux distributions:

        sudo apt-get remove kodi kodi-bin
        sudo apt-get install kodi kodi-bin
