@DirtBagXon
thanks will give it a tryOne other and last thought,.....
/bin/bash /media/usb0/roms/daphne/singe/maddog.sh
Prefix the script on the usb stick with the 'bash' interpreter so it's called as an argument..
But to be clear, the script that is making the above bash call will need to exist on the Pi sd card and will need the executable bit set. So a bit of a chicken and egg scenario. But this is then similar to your DOSBox setup...
Might work for you....

On the first line of your maddog.sh script, you need to change to the directory from where you want to start .
cd /media/usb0/roms/daphne/singe/
? or whatever it is.
The script is trying to cd into a subdirectory from that point.
This is where your script writing skills start ;)

@DirtBagXon
having that sh file -cd /media/usb0/roms/daphne/singe/maddog ./run.sh maddog
but still getting that -

You are in the wrong place to run that run.sh script, it isn't where you think it is....

Missing file: /home/pi/.daphne/singe/maddog/maddog.singe ?
/home/pi/.daphne/singe/maddog/maddog.txt ?It's all there:
Missing file: /home/pi/.daphne/singe/maddog/maddog.singe ? /home/pi/.daphne/singe/maddog/maddog.txt ?
Looking at the wrong place.
Are you specifying the correct path for -homedir and -datadir - that you had when you ran it from the cli in that script...

@DirtBagXon
Im trying to run the sh file to the directory of /media/usb0/roms/daphne/singe .and not from /home/pi/.daphne/singe/maddog/

Im trying to run the sh file to the directory of /media/usb0/roms/daphne/singe .and not from /home/pi/.daphne/singe/maddog/
cause its not there ....That's fine, but you have to tell the singe.bin where it can find the files it needs by the correct arguments, at the moment your script is telling it they are in the wrong place.
The errors will tell you where it's trying to load them, you need to find and alter the bits in your scripts to correct that.

@DirtBagXon
Thanks a lot again :)
will try to play with that -
@DirtBagXon
Sorry to drive u nuts ;)..
but i did that -<extension>.singe .sh .SINGE .SH</extension>
from my hard drive .
and even .singe dosent let me load it .
with the some error on the log (no promotion ) that's really weird -

<extension>.singe .sh .SINGE .SH</extension>
I have no knowledge of what this is?
Despite being on this forum, I'm afraid I have never setup RetroPie.
I only came here to help @Darksavior on the original step.... -
@DirtBagXon
Got u
thanks a lot for your time :) <3 :)) -

@DirtBagXon thanks for testing and for the links. Learning something every day indeed:)
@pjft - Could you test this as the proper fix for Badlands in Daphne?
We should not be using global char assignment (-fsigned-char), as we read, it is bad practice and performance impacting on ARM.

You should not need the global -fsigned-char which as we saw is kinda bad and performance impacting.
can confirm this fix makes badlands work on Raspberry Pi4.
thanks for the work.

do i need to reinstall daphne aggin now ?Yeah, you probably need to wait till someone adds the changes in the install script though... I made the changes manually and recompiled just to test.

Anyway i can make the Daphne / American laser games
Full screen ? 16/9
and not 4:3... -

thanks for the work.Cool, I'll let @pjft make the pull request to the retropie repo, as he led me down the correct debug path.
