Having problems configuring ipac2 with retropie
-
Hi everyone,
I'm having some trouble getting my controls right. I am using a raspberry pi 4 with retropie and emulationstation, all downloaded from the offcial sites.
It works properly with a usb snes controller, but now I got everything inside my build cabinet.
I connected a ipac2 to all buttons and both joysticks, 2 player snes like setup.
I followed a guide on this forum and configured the ipac with the pc, double checked all buttons and joysticks on a Notepad file, they are correct.
After that I changed the file /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg, to all the commands I put in with winipac.
I restarted the system. Player 1 side doenst do anything in the main menu, player 2 side joystick works, but the buttons are all mixed up. also start and select dont work.I included a picture with my current retroarch.cfg situation.
I also tried to set the ipac to gamepad, but then emulationstation wont let me configure them in the menu, he recognizes 2 gamepads, but when assigning buttons i get a message "already in use".
after that I put the ipac in keyboard mode and followed the extended guide on this forum. In this mode ES wont recognise it as a gamepad so I cant configure it in the menu.
Does anyone know what else I can do to fix this problem?
Thanks!

That is strange! Because, even if ES configure Input Menu is telling you it hasn't detected a gamepad, pressing a "keyboard" key should get you through the configuration of the controls for player 1 (same as with only a real keyboard connected)! Have you tried pressing a button (mapped as keyboard key), or does the message that no gamepad was found had mislead you to assume that a keyboard cannot be configured via the UI? Going through that should give you a valid retroarch.cfg (as said for player 1), to add player 2 controls you still have to edit the file.
