Hey all, I've been searching for days where to find the menu option to enable memory card 2 for the pcsx_rearmed emu. I need a second memory card to enable a co-op play feature in Legend of Mana.

I noticed that the option "[pcsx_rearmed_memcard2] (disabled|enabled)" is in the text config files of other people who have posted, and listed here under core options:
    https://docs.libretro.com/library/pcsx_rearmed/

But when I navigate to the core options menu or view my config files manually, the option does not exist. Is there a particular version of pcsx_rearmed that includes this option and other versions do not? I was of the belief that it was merged in 2018, as indicated here:
    https://github.com/libretro/pcsx_rearmed/pull/171

Thanks in advance for responses, and for all the help from the community thus far!

    Pi Model : 3 Model B
    RetroPie Version Used: 4.6.9
    pcsx_rearmed version: 1.8.8
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website, updated from source a couple times

That's actually the RetroArch version, but the option should be present whether you install from source or binary.

@mitu Thanks for the screencap, I seem to have different options, but some are similar

          @Adelsub

im running lr-pcsx-rearmed version 1.8.5 and the memory card option is there (image below)

as mitu said, looks like you're running PCSX-ReARMed which should have it ... but apparently not ?

@Adelsub Have you updated lr-pcsx-rearmed (not pcsx-rearmed, which is the standalone emulator) from source/binary recently ?

@mitu that was certainly the intention, lets see if I'm doing something wrong

This week I updated the setup script & update all installed packages from source, which did change the menu but still didn't get the option I was looking for.

Now today I've specifically updated lr-pcsx-rearmed (after first mistakenly updating pcsx-rearmed, thanks I see the difference now). I'm getting the following error during the update:

"Could not successfully build lr-pcsx-rearmed - Playstation emulator - PCSX (arm optimised) port for libretro (/home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/tmp/build/lr-pcsx-rearmed/pcsx_rearmed_libretro.so not found)."

@Adelsub You seem to be having some sort of local configuration/scriptmodule for this core, this doesn't seem like a standard RetroPie installation.

@mitu hmm I was playing around with options overrides (analog stick option) and core remapping (to suit xbox controller), but assume that wouldn't cause either of these problems.

I've been looking for an excuse to reimage, I was given the pi and didn't set it up initially. I assumed it was the standard image from several years ago, but alas I have no way of knowing. I'm still somewhat early in the finetuning process, would you recommend I reimage?

@mitu it was already setup when I got it, origins unknown. I’ve been encountering some other minor but persistent issues as well so I’m starting to doubt if it was setup well

Did you buy it with the Pi ? If you don't know its origin, then why do you say it's

@mitu yeah sorry that has just always been my assumption as it seems like the easiest/most common way to setup.

@Adelsub We don't support 3rd party images, as outlined in the forum rules and the support start page - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first. Your kind of issue is one of the reasons why.

I recommend you install the image from retropie.org.uk/download and start anew. If you still have issues, then post again in the forums.

@mitu Resolved by reimage, thank you!

Turns out I've been spending untold hours troubleshooting little issues caused by having a 3rd party image and not knowing it facepalm

The good news is that by doing everything the hard way, I have learned lots ;)

@Adelsub Welcome to the wonderful world of: I've got this awesome game box that I can play all these games. Just one or two more tweaks and I might actually play something!

But honestly, most of the emulators are pretty much ready to go but you can spend days and days getting everything exactly to your liking-overlays, shaders, tweaking the gamelists, modifying themes, making custom collections...

Which reminds me, I need to get back to tweaking my Pi4 build...
