Again thank you all for your help so far, I know I am asking alot of questions!

Whilst waiting for my pi400 to come, one of the main systems I want to emulate is the amiga. Now I thought I had this figured out how it works, drop the Kik roms into a certain place and then the game roms (adf) into the amiga games folder and away we go.

However I have just watched this you tube video and it has confused me

So in this video he is saying that you should install amiberry and use .IHA roms.

What is the deffault Amiga emulator being used in retro pie? and if I don't install amiberry will it not work?

Should I be looking for ADF files or IHA files?

How's does ADF handle disk swapping? if a game comes on 2 ADF files for disk 1 and disk 2, do you have to do anything In the emulator when it wants to swap disks?

Sorry if this is basic questions but I really thought you just get ADF files and put them into Amiga folder.

      Thanks for any help

@chris3535 .lha files are WHDLoad versions of the games. Basically instead of running from a slow loading floppy disc it was made to run from a hard drive and load much quicker. Along with faster load times it eliminates disk swapping so is definitely recommended. I don't believe all games have WHDLoad versions though, so some games may only be available as .adf discs.

@badfurday thanks.. So for the games that you can only only get the adf files.. How do you swap the discs in retro pie? For example when it asks for disc 2 what do you do?

@chris3535 If the game supports multiple drives, and they have Disk1 / Disk2 in the name, RetroPie will automatically insert the additional disks so you may not need to swap for all games. For the ones you do, you press F12 or Select + X to get into the Amiberry configuration screen. From there you can insert a different disk in drive 0 and continue.

              @buzz thanks that makes sense.

Just one more question. Is amiberry the default amiga emulator in retro pie?

@chris3535 there are none installed by default. But it's the best Amiga emulator on arm.

@buzz oh OK so do you need to install all the emulators? Will I have to install spectrum emulators c64 emulators etc?

I thought that one was installed for each system by default?

@buzz I have read it but I'm still bit confused.. How can you tell which systems have a pre installed emulator and which ones don't?

                      Sorry for all the questions

@chris3535 you can look at manage packages on RetroPie-Setup in the core and main sections.

ROM folders won't be made for systems not installed.

It definitely will, it'll all seem like gibberish now. It'll fall into place when you are actually tinkering.
